The wait is over: the MV Agusta Idealavoro Forward Racing team has finally faced the opening race of the 2019 Moto2 World Championship in Qatar.

Si è conclusa la prima gara di questa stagione 2019 sotto i riflettori del circuito di Losail, in Qatar, per il team MV Agusta Idealavoro Forward Racing. Dominique Aegerter, che scattava dall’ottava fila in griglia di partenza, ha affrontato la sua prima gara con grande determinazione, riuscendo a permanere per buona parte del tempo in zona punti. Alla fine, il pilota svizzero ha concluso questo esordio con il nuovo team, e la giovanissima MV Agusta F2, in 18esima posizione. Anche il suo compagno di squadra, Stefano Manzi, ha saputo difendersi con valore. Partito dalla nona fila, ha iniziato a scalare le posizioni fino a recuperarne ben 11 e mantenendo per qualche giro la 15esima posizione, per poi terminare la sua gara al 20esimo piazzamento.
Questa, per il team MV Agusta Idealavoro Forward Racing è stata la prima grande sfida non solo della stagione 2019, ma del ritorno del prestigioso marchio nel Campionato del Mondo. Il prossimo appuntamento è fissato in Argentina, a Termas de Rio Hondo, il week-end del 29, 30 e 31 marzo.

The first race of the 2019 season has ended under the lights of the Losail circuit, in Qatar, for the MV Agusta Idealavoro Forward Racing team. Dominique Aegerter, who started from the eighth row of the grid, faced his first race with great determination, managing to stay for most of the time in the points zone. In the end, the Swiss rider concluded this debut with the new team, and the new born MV Agusta F2, in 18th position. His team mate, Stefano Manzi, was also able to defend himself with value. Starting from the ninth row, he started to climb the positions until recovering 11 and keeping for a few laps in 15th position, and then finish his race in 20th place.
This, for the team MV Agusta Idealavoro Forward Racing was the first big challenge not only of the 2019 season, but also of the return of the prestigious name in the World Championship. The next appointment is set in Argentina, in Termas de Rio Hondo, on the weekend of 29, 30 and 31 March

“Finalmente la prima gara del 2019 con il nuovo progetto Mv Agusta. Ero davvero impaziente di scendere in pista oggi per la gara. Partendo ventiquattresimo ovviamente sapevo che non sarebbe stato facile, ma ho fatto una buona partenza e ho cercato di battagliare al meglio per la top 20. È la prima volta che la F2 corre una gara intera e abbiamo raccolto molte informazioni utili sul comportamento sulle lunghe distanze. Vorrei ringraziare il Team che ci sta mettendo il massimo, un grazie anche gli Sponsor che hanno scelto di accompagnarci in questa avventura. Per finire posso dire che sono leggermente dispiaciuto perché avrei voluto fare meglio, ma in ogni caso lavoreremo per migliorarci il più possibile e partire in Argentina più vicini al gruppo di testa”.

“Finally the first round of 2019 with the new project Mv Agusta. I was really looking forward to this day. Starting twenty-fourth obviously I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I made a good start and tried to fight for the top 20. This is the first time that the F2 has run a whole race and we have gathered a lot of useful information on long-distance behavior. I would like to thank the team that is doing their best, thanks also to the sponsors who have chosen to join us in this adventure. In the end I can say that I am slightly disappointed because I wanted to do better, but in any case we will work to improve as much as possible and start in Argentina closer to the leading group”.

“Il Campionato è finalmente iniziato, dopo il test di Jerez forse le aspettative erano più alte, ma qua in Qatar le condizioni sono diverse e anche durante i test della scorsa settimana abbiamo sofferto un po’. Nonostante ciò, la gara è andata bene. Fino a metà stavo facendo una bella bagarre con il mio compagno di squadra, ma poi un calo della gomma mi ha costretto a rallentare. Ho commesso qualche errore verso la fine che mi ha distaccato dal gruppo, però in compenso abbiamo raccolto molti dati da analizzare, che saranno di sicuro molto utili per prepararci al meglio per il prossimo round in Argentina. Ci tengo a ringraziare a tutto il Team per il grande lavoro che stanno facendo e gli sponsor per il loro supporto”.

“The Championship has finally started, after the Jerez test perhaps the expectations were higher, but here in Qatar the conditions are different and even during the tests last week we suffered a bit. Nevertheless, the race went well. Until the first half of the race I was having a good fight with my team-mate, but then a drop in the tyre forced me to slow down. I made a few mistakes towards the end that separated me from the leading group, but on the other hand we have collected a lot of data to analyze, which will certainly be very useful to prepare for the next round in Argentina. I would like to thank the whole team for the great work they are doing and the sponsors for their support”.
