PRIMA GIORNATA DI PROVE LIBERE POSITIVA PER I PILOTI DEL TEAM MV AGUSTA TEMPORARY FORWARD RACING

Giornata carica di positività quella di oggi in Thailandia, sul circuito di Buriram, per i piloti del team MV Agusta Temporary Forward Racing.
Sin dalle FP1, i due portacolori della squadra corse italo-svizzera hanno dimostrato di trovarsi a proprio agio sul circuito asiatico e con le novità della loro F2. Tutto ciò è stato confermato nelle FP2, dove entrambi i piloti hanno montato il nuovo forcellone constatando un buon feeling.
Stefano Manzi si è da subito trovato bene in sella, chiudendo le prove libere mattutine in 12esima posizione. Il turno pomeridiano è stato una conferma per il pilota riminese, il quale ha condotto la gran parte del tempo in quinta posizione in classifica. C’è stato un grosso cambiamento nel setting, che ha fornito buone sensazioni al cadetto della VR46 Riders Academy che ha, infine, terminato il turno in 15esima posizione, migliorando comunque il suo tempo di 7 decimi rispetto alle FP1. Ora l’attenzione è tutta focalizzata su domani, per riuscire ad entrare direttamente in Q2.
Dominique Aegerter, dall’altro lato del box, ha terminato le FP1 con un importante quarto posto, che ha dato carica a tutti. Nelle FP2 il pilota svizzero ha concentrato la sua attenzione sulla comprensione delle nuove componenti, tra cui il nuovo forcellone. Nella giornata Dominique ha raggiunto una velocità di punta di 279km/h, con un miglior tempo in FP1 di 1:36’506, terminando in classifica combinata in 16esima posizione.
L’appuntamento è dunque fissato per le 10:55 (ora locale) con l’ultimo turno di prove libere, ed alle 15:05 con le sessioni di qualifiche.

FIRST POSITIVE DAY OF FREE PRACTICE FOR THE RIDERS OF THE MV AGUSTA TEMPORARY FORWARD RACING TEAM

Today was a positive day in Thailand, at the Buriram circuit, for the riders of the MV Agusta Temporary Forward Racing team.
Since the FP1, the two riders of the Italian-Swiss racing team have proved to be at ease on the Asian circuit and with the new features of their F2. All this has been confirmed in the FP2, where both riders have installed the new swing-arm and found a good feeling.
Stefano Manzi immediately felt secure in the bike, finishing the morning free practice in 12th position. The afternoon session was a further confirmation for the Italian, who led most of the session in fifth position in the standings. There was a big change in the setting, which gave a good feeling to the cadet of the VR46 Riders Academy who ended the session in 15th position, improving his time by 7 tenths compared to the FP1. Now the focus is on tomorrow to be able to get directly into Q2.
Dominique Aegerter, on the other side of the box, finished the FP1s with an important fourth place, which gave everyone a boost. In the FP2s, the Swiss rider focused his attention on understanding the new components, including the new swing-arm. Dominique reached a top speed of 279km/h on the day, with a best time in FP1 of 1:36’506, finishing in 16th place in the combined ranking.
The appointment is therefore set for 10:55 (local time) with the last free practice session, and 15:05 with the qualifying sessions.

“Giornata molto positiva. Questo pomeriggio è stata una conferma della mattinata, siamo anche riusciti a migliorare il nostro tempo quindi sono contento. Abbiamo fatto un grosso aggiornamento sulla moto che mi è piaciuto sin da subito e questo mi fa avere fiducia. Sicuramente non è semplice affrontare cambiamenti così importanti come quelli che stiamo apportando, ma credo che stiamo lavorando nella giusta direzione ed anche i dati sembrerebbero dimostrarlo. Ora continuiamo a lavorare così e l’obiettivo di domani sarà sicuramente quello di entrare in Q2.”

“Very positive day. This afternoon was a confirmation of the morning, we also managed to improve our time so I’m happy. We did a big update on the bike that I liked immediately and this gives me confidence. It’s certainly not as easy to deal with changes as the ones we’re making, but I think we’re working in the right direction and the data also seems to prove it. Now we continue to work and tomorrow’s goal is definitely to enter Q2.”

“Abbiamo iniziato molto bene nelle FP1, questo pomeriggio abbiamo provato a migliorarci anche con nuove componenti, ma non siamo propriamente riusciti in senso di posizioni. Stefano però è andato ancora più veloce questo pomeriggio, quindi abbiamo dati da analizzare e continueremo con il lavoro in atto. Speriamo di entrare domani in Q2 direttamente, questo è il nostro obiettivo al momento. È stato sicuramente un giorno positivo questo. Il distacco con gli altri piloti più avanti è minimo quindi rimaniamo positivi e continuiamo a lavorare in questa direzione”.

“We started very well in the FP1, this afternoon we tried to improve ourselves with new components, but we didn’t really succeed in terms of positions. However, Stefano went even faster this afternoon, so we have data to analyze and we will continue with the work in progress. We hope to enter Q2 directly tomorrow, that’s our goal at the moment. It was definitely a positive day. The gap with the other riders ahead is minimal so we remain positive and we continue to work in this direction”.

“Oggi è sicuramente stato un inizio positivo, nonostante il clima di questo circuito renda più difficoltoso il lavoro per tutti. Aver visto entrambi i piloti sin da subito nelle prime 12 posizioni, questo ha di certo dato la giusta motivazione per affrontare il resto del week-end. Poter partire con distacchi contenuti dalla vetta, come Stefano che si è trovato a soli 4 decimi dal primo, ci fa ben sperare in vista della giornata di domani. Anche tecnicamente oggi è stata una giornata importante. Siamo soddisfatti del lavoro svolto fino a qui. Abbiamo sicuramente parecchio margine di miglioramento, ma siamo solo all’inizio delle novità che abbiamo portato qui in Thailandia, motivo per cui abbiamo ancora modo di sfruttare ogni particolare al meglio. Ora stiamo lavorando sui dati raccolti in questi primi due turni per riuscire a mettere i nostri piloti in condizioni di esprimersi al meglio. Il nostro obiettivo ovviamente rimane quello di entrare direttamente in Q2 domani”.

“Today was definitely a positive start, despite the climate of this circuit makes it more difficult for everyone to work. Having seen both riders from the start in the top 12 positions, has certainly given the right motivation to face the rest of the weekend. Being able to start from a small distance from the top, like Stefano who was only 4 tenths of a second from the first, gives us hope for tomorrow. Also technically today was an important day. We are satisfied with the work done so far. We certainly have a lot of room for improvement, but we are only at the beginning of the news that we brought here in Thailand, which is why we still have a way to make the most of every detail. Now we are working on the data collected in these first two rounds to be able to put our riders in the right conditions to express themselves at their best. Our goal is obviously still to get directly into Q2 tomorrow”.
