Si conclude ad un passo dalla zona punti la 15esima tappa del calendario del Campionato del Mondo Moto2 in Thailandia, sul circuito di Buriram.
Dopo un week-end che conferma il continuo miglioramento del pacchetto tecnico, i piloti del team MV Agusta Temporary Forward Racing non sono riusciti oggi a coronare il risultato sperato anche in gara, restando comunque molto vicini all’obiettivo del team: i punti.
Dominique Aegerter, che partito dalla 22esima posizione in griglia di partenza ha recuperato ben 6 posizioni tagliando il traguardo in 16esima posizione, ha concluso i suoi 110,6 km di gara a soli 18 secondi di distacco dal primo.
Stefano Manzi, dall’altra parte del box, ha visto volgere al termine la sua gara prematuramente: un inconveniente tecnico alla gomma anteriore proprio sul lato sinistro, ha infatti portato ad una caduta al quinto giro, che ha costretto il pilota riminese al rientro ai box.
Tutto il fine settimana è stato intenso dal punto di vista tecnico e caratterizzato da diverse novità. Anche il clima afoso ed a tratti piovoso ha giocato un ruolo importante, ma la squadra corse italo-svizzera è comunque soddisfatta del miglioramento della giovane MV Agusta F2 che, gara dopo gara, sta diventando una moto sempre più competitiva.
Il team ora è pronto a rientrare a casa, dove nei pochi giorni di pausa prima del Gran Premio in Giappone continuerà a lavorare per poter arrivare al 16esimo round del calendario ancora più preparato.

L’obiettivo rimane lo stesso e l’appuntamento è fissato per il 18, 19 e 20 ottobre, presso il Twin Ring di Motegi.

ENDS A SECOND FROM ITS THIRD CONSECUTIVE ROUND IN POINTS THE THAI GP FOR THE TEAM MV AGUSTA TEMPORARY FORWARD RACING

The 15th stage in the calendar of the Moto2 World Championship in Thailand, at Buriram circuit, ends a step from the points zone.
After a weekend that confirms the continuous improvement of the technical package, the riders of the MV Agusta Temporary Forward Racing team were not able to achieve the desired result even in the race, but still remain very close to the team’s goal: the points zone.
Dominique Aegerter, who started from 22nd position on the grid has recovered 6 positions crossing the finish line in 16th place, finished his 110.6 km race just 18 seconds behind the first.
Stefano Manzi, on the other side of the box, saw his race come to an end prematurely: a technical problem with the front tyre right on the left side, led to a crash on lap five, which forced the rider from Rimini to return to the box.
The whole weekend was intense from a technical point of view and characterized by several new features. Even the hot and sometimes rainy climate has played an important role, but the Italian-Swiss racing team is still satisfied with the improvement of the young MV Agusta F2 that, race after race, is becoming an increasingly competitive bike.
The team is now ready to return home, where in the few days of break before the Grand Prix in Japan, will continue to work to get to the 16th round of the calendar even more prepared.

The objective remains the same and the appointment is set for 18, 19 and 20 October, at the Twin Ring in Motegi.

“Purtroppo, per poco, non siamo riusciti a raggiungere la zona punti, che era anche il nostro obiettivo. Sicuramente è stato un week-end impegnativo, abbiamo testato molte nuove componenti, temperature abbastanza alte, ma siamo sempre rimasti vicini alla vetta. Ho combattuto ogni curva ed ogni momento per riuscire a prendere punti ma purtroppo infine non ce l’abbiamo fatta. Ringrazio gli sponsor e tutto il team per il lavoro svolto durante questo intenso week-end”.

“Unfortunately, for a little, we were unable to reach the points zone, which was also our goal. Surely it was a challenging weekend, we tested many new components, quite high temperatures, but we always remained close to the top. I fought every corner and every moment to get points but unfortunately we didn’t make it. I thank the sponsors and the whole team for the work done during this intense weekend.”

“Sono molto dispiaciuto perché al warm-up ero andato bene e stavo facendo una bella gara, ma purtroppo per spingere al limite ho fatto una scivolata che ha compromesso tutta la gara. Ciò nonostante siamo stati molto veloci e questo mi dà molta fiducia. Ci tengo a ringraziare tutto il team per il lavoro svolto. Ci rifaremo in Giappone”.

“I am very disappointed because in the warm-up I was doing well and I was having a good race, but unfortunately to push to the limit I made a slide that compromised the whole race. Nevertheless we were very fast and this gives me a lot of confidence. I would like to thank the whole team for their work. We will do it again in Japan”.

“Purtroppo lasciamo la Thailandia con l’amaro in bocca, quest’oggi, in quanto avevamo il potenziale per fare un buon risultato. Sia Dominique che Stefano sono partiti bene. Manzi al secondo e terzo giro stava girando come il gruppo di testa e nel tentativo di proseguire la sua corsa con questi, gli si è chiuso il davanti e non è così riuscito a portare a termine la sua impresa. Aegerter, dalla sua, ha condotto una gara in rimonta, nonostante la perdita di alcune posizioni al secondo giro; purtroppo per pochissimo è rimasto fuori dalla zona punti. Se consideriamo però il week-end nel suo complesso, entrambi i piloti sono migliorati molto nell’arco dei tre giorni. Dominique era partito fortissimo facendo quarto nelle FP1 e Stefano ha avuto tutto il fine settimana un passo costante ed è sempre stato veloce anche con le gomme usate. Anche se oggi non siamo riusciti a raggiungere il risultato sperato, i miglioramenti fatti fino ad oggi si vedono e di questo siamo contenti. Ora abbiamo una settimana di pausa prima della tripletta e i piloti sono carichi e motivati a dare il meglio, quindi partiamo fiduciosi”.

“Unfortunately we leave Thailand with a bitter taste today, as we had the potential to make a good result. Both Dominique and Stefano got off to a good start. Manzi on lap two and three was running like the leading group and in an attempt to continue his race with these, he closed the front and was not so able to complete his performance. Aegerter, from his side, led a comeback race, despite the loss of some positions on the second lap, unfortunately for very little remained outside the points area. If we consider the whole weekend, however, both riders have improved a lot over the three days. Dominique had started very fast, finishing fourth in the FP1s and Stefano had a constant pace all weekend and has always been fast even with used tyres. Even if today we have not been able to reach the desired result, the improvements made so far are visible and we are happy about this. Now we have a week off before the 3 consecutive oversea races and the riders are strongly motivated to do their best, so we start confident”.
