MOTO2, MOTEGI: MIGLIOR QUALIFICA IN CARRIERA PER MANZI CHE CONQUISTA LA QUARTA FILA IN GRIGLIA PER IL TEAM MV AGUSTA TEMPORARY FORWARD RACING

Il sabato di Motegi viene caratterizzato da un ottimo undicesimo piazzamento in qualifica di Stefano Manzi, che per la prima volta in stagione è riuscito a portare la sua F2 direttamente in Q2, risultando competitivo con ogni condizione meteo.
Il tifone 19 che si è scagliato con allerta 3 nei pressi del Twin Ring di Motegi, non ha compromesso l’ultimo turno di prove libere e le qualifiche della Moto2; nonostante quindi le condizioni miste dell’asfalto, che hanno abbassato di molto i tempi in pista, le qualifiche sono state dichiarate “bagnate”, ma il cadetto della VR46 Riders Academy, che la mattina aveva chiuso sesto in FP3, è riuscito a gestire bene la situazione. Trovato il giusto compromesso con la sua MV Agusta F2, Manzi ha segnato l’undicesimo crono di 2’02:714, con un gap di soltanto 0.5” dal secondo in griglia di partenza.
Dominique Aegerter, dall’altro lato del box, ha condotto delle buone FP3, chiudendo il turno 15esimo, a poco più di mezzo secondo dal suo compagno di squadra; nelle Q1 gli è mancato il giusto feeling con la sua F2. L’esperto pilota svizzero non aveva più grip e faticava molto in frenata; ciò gli ha fatto chiudere la giornata in decima fila. La squadra di Aegerter è già al lavoro sull’analisi dei dati per riuscire ad arrivare il più competitivi possibile alla giornata di domani.
Gli appuntamenti di domani saranno i seguenti: 9:10 ora locale (2:10 in Italia) con il warm-up e 13:20 ora locale (6:20 in Italia) con il tanto atteso spegnimento dei semafori per il via alla gara.

MOTO2, MOTEGI: BEST QUALIFYING IN CAREER FOR MANZI WHICH GAIN THE FOURTH ROW IN STARTING GRID FOR THE TEAM MV AGUSTA TEMPORARY FORWARD RACING

In this Saturday at Motegi, Stefano Manzi, who for the first time in the season was able to bring his F2 directly into Q2, was able to take a good eleventh place in qualifying, making him competitive again in all weather conditions.
Typhoon 19, who was on alert 3 near Motegi’s Twin Ring, did not compromise the last free practice session and Moto2 qualifying; despite the mixed tarmac conditions, which lowered track times, qualifying was declared “wet”, but the VR46 Riders Academy cadet, who finished sixth in FP3 in the morning, managed to handle the situation well. Having found the right compromise with his MV Agusta F2, Manzi set the eleventh best time of 2’02:714, with a gap of only 0.5″ from the second on the grid.
Dominique Aegerter, on the other side of the box, led some good FP3s, closing the round 15th, just over half a second behind his teammate; in Q1s he missed the right feeling with his F2. The experienced Swiss rider had no more grip and was struggling a lot in braking; this made him close the day in the tenth row. Aegerter’s team is already working on analyzing the data in order to arrive as competitive as possible tomorrow.
Tomorrow’s appointments will be as follows: 9:10 local time (2:10 in Italy) with the warm-up and 13:20 local time (6:20 in Italy) with the long-awaited switch-off of the traffic lights for the start of the race.

“Giornata molto positiva per noi, non solo perche questa è stata la miglior qualifica dell’anno ma anche perché ieri temevamo un po’ questa condizione di bagnato che c’è stata oggi, però sia questa mattina con molta acqua in pista, sia questo pomeriggio con una condizione mista, siamo riusciti ad essere veloci. Un po’ un peccato per la qualifica perché ero molto veloce, però subito dopo pochi giri, vista la condizione, ho bruciato un po’ la gomma dietro e non sono riuscito a sfruttare tutto il grip che mi poteva dare. Comunque partiamo undicesimi e va bene lo stesso. Domani ovviamente cercheremo di fare il massimo.”

“It was a very positive day for us, not only because this was the best qualifying session of the year but also because yesterday we were a little worried about the wet conditions we had today, but this morning with a lot of water on the track and this afternoon with a mixed condition, we managed to be fast. It was a bit of a shame about qualifying because I was very fast, but immediately after a few laps, given the condition, I burned the tyre a bit behind and I couldn’t take advantage of all the grip it could give me. Anyway, we’re starting from eleventh and that’s fine. Tomorrow we will obviously try to do our best”.

“Oggi le FP3 sono andate bene, eravamo parecchio competitivi anche in condizioni di bagnato. Nelle Q1 prima di entrare in pista sentivo un buon feeling, il tracciato però poi era metà asciutto e metà bagnato, e non ho più trovato il giusto grip per spingere forte e giro dopo giro non riuscivo a migliorare. Sono dispiaciuto di partire 28esimo quando pensavo di ottenere risultati migliori, ma in ogni caso combatteremo anche domani giro dopo giro per fare del nostro meglio”.

“Today the FP3s went well, we were pretty competitive even in wet conditions. In the Q1s before I got on the track I felt a good feeling, but the track was half dry and half wet, and I didn’t find the right grip to push hard anymore and lap after lap I couldn’t improve. “Sicuramente anche la giornata di oggi ci lascia emozioni ambivalenti. Purtroppo Domi in Q1 ha avuto molte difficoltà con il grip sia davanti che dietro, dovremo capire come mai le sue sensazioni sul bagnato sono cambiate così tanto rispetto a questa mattina. Al suo fianco Stefano è riuscito a fare la sua miglior qualifica di stagione, chiudendo undicesimo a circa mezzo secondo dal secondo. Verso la fine la gomma era al limite e non è riuscito ad abbassare ulteriormente il suo tempo. Nonostante questo penso che per lui fino ad ora il week end sia molto positivo e questo sottolinea quanti sia cresciuto quest’anno come pilota: è riuscito ad essere competitivo con tutte le condizioni di pista trovate. La gara sarà domani, abbiamo anche del lavoro da fare ma sono convinta che entrambi daranno il massimo e speriamo di poter lasciare il Giappone con qualche punto. Despite this I think that for him so far the weekend is very positive and this underlines how many he has grown as a rider this year: he managed to be competitive with all the track conditions found. The race will be tomorrow, we have a loro of work to do but I am convinced that both will give the best and we hope to leave Japan with some points.
