SEASON 2020: SIMONE CORSI WITH THE TEAM MV AGUSTA TEMPORARY FORWARD RACING The MV Agusta Temporary Forward Racing team is pleased to announce the recruitment of Simone Corsi for the 2020 season in the Moto2 World Championship. The Rome-born rider will be the teammate of the VR46 Riders Academy cadet Stefano Manzi and both will ride the MV Agusta F2, the bike with which the prestigious brand from Varese has returned to the World Championship this year. Simone started his career on track in 2001 in the Italian Speed Championship and made his debut in the World Championship in 2002 in 125cc. In 2005 he moved to the 250 class and in 2013 he became a part of the Forward Racing Team in the Moto2 category, where he remained until 2015. In these years he has achieved excellent results such as 24 podiums and 9 victories. In his 273 career races, the italian rider has gained great experience and sensitivity, fundamental qualities in this phase of the MV Agusta project. In the current season, he has already done a test with the Italian-Swiss racing team, being at ease with the bike and with the team. Fundamental in the agreement between the team and the rider was the role of RPM, the media center of Temporary SpA, Title sponsor of the team. RPM, in fact, has managed to develop an interesting ethical project, which will begin with this collaboration. The President and CEO of Temporary, Franco Toscano – a former policeman – is also pleased to be able to launch such an important initiative, which will involve the Polizia di Stato, thanks also to the role of Corsi as athlete of Fiamme Oro. Simone Corsi is thrilled to be part of a totally Italian project on the 37 times world champion bike, sure to make an excellent contribution to the development of the bike and to give his all to bring the brand MV Agusta back to the top of the world rankings. The owner of the MV Agusta Forward Racing team, Giovanni Cuzari, and the whole team would like to thank the Swiss rider Dominique Aegerter for the great season together. Dominique, in addition of being a professional rider, has worked hard throughout the season with a great spirit of cooperation, to contribute personally to the development of the MV Agusta F2. Aegerter was able to bring home important results right from the start, which have directed the team towards the right path for the constant progress achieved during the 2019 season. MV Agusta Temporary Forward Racing wishes the Swiss talent the best for its future, in the hope that this is just for right now. Simone Corsi – Rider “I’m happy to be back in action in 2020 and even more to do so with a brand as important as MV Agusta. I would like to thank Giovanni Cuzari, RPM and the whole team for the trust they have given me and I hope to be able to repay them in turn with results, to be able to bring the famous Italian brand MV Agusta back to the top of the ranking. I saw that in recent races the bike has grown a lot, Manzi has achieved good results so I’m even more motivated and ready for this new challenge”. Giovanni Cuzari – Team Owner “First of all I want to thank Dominique Aegerter for the wonderful season together and for the beautiful person he is; it is difficult to find such good people. I wish him all the best for next season and hope to see him again soon. About Simone Corsi, it’s a “welcome back” in the sense that he’s already run several seasons with my team and I’m happy he’s back to race with us and with the most titled Italian brand in the world. So I welcome back Simone and I thank RPM, the media center of Temporary SpA and Dr. Toscano, CEO and President, for helping our team and MV Agusta to complete this beautiful project. I would like to thank all the sponsors who, as always, support us. See you in Valencia.” |
