Punti sfiorati per l’MV Agusta Forward Racing team nel primo dei due appuntamenti sul Red Bull Ring in Austria. Poco dopo la partenza la gara è stata interrotta al terzo giro per un incidente che, fortunatamente, non ha visto coinvolti Manzi e Corsi. La gara è poi ripresa con le due MV Agusta F2 a ripartire dalla 7a fila in una gara sprint accorciata a 13 giri. Stefano Manzi, dopo essere risultato tra i migliori 10 nel Warm Up della mattina, non è riuscito a scalare posizioni per entrare in zona punti. Fatale l’ultimo giro nel quale il riminese è riuscito a sfiorare la 15a posizione, perdendola per pochi decimi nella bagarre finale. In crescita Simone Corsi che, partito dalla 10a fila, riesce a chiudere 20° mostrando passi in avanti dopo il lavoro svolto nel weekend. Il prossimo appuntamento è per la settimana prossima, sempre a Spielberg per il GP di Stiria, occasione in cui il team cercherà di migliorarsi e smuovere la classifica.

The race has been red flagged after an incident that, luckily, didn’t involve neither Manzi or Corsi. The race restarted with just 13 laps to go, with the two MV Agusta F2 in the 7th row. Stefano Manzi, after the good pace shown in the Warm Up (9th), couldn’t reach points at the end. In the last lap the Italian rider reached for a moment the 15th position, lost for few tenth of a second in the final battle. Good job for Simone Corsi who started from 10th row, closed 20th and showed progresses during this past weekend. Next stop is next week, still in Spielberg for Stiryan GP, where the team will be seeking improvements and points for sure.

«Non c’è molto da dire oggi. È stata una gara molto buia per noi, già nella prima partenza dove ero finito 22° e avevo perso tre posizioni. Non so che dire: nei primi giri ho perso molto, ho fatto fatica a girare con gli altri perché sono riusciti a superarmi facilmente nel rettilineo e poi, anche se sono andato più veloce, ormai mi avevano passato e ho fatto fatica a prendere il ritmo. Anche nella seconda ripartenza, mi hanno superato in tanti nei primi giri, per ripassarli ci ho messo tanto e la gara era molto corta.».

«There’s no much to say today. It’s been a very bad race for us. During the first start I was already down to 22nd, I lost three positions. I don’t know what to say: during the first laps I lost too much, I had difficulties running with the other because they easily passed me in the straight and then, even if I went faster, they’re already far and I didn’t pick up the pace. Even in the second start, many rider passed me and I lost much time trying to get them and the race was too short.»

«È stato un weekend difficile, sicuramente non ero in condizioni fisicamente perfette. La mancanza di feeling ha fatto sì che il risultato non fosse buono dell’intero fine settimana. Mi dispiace sia per me che per la squadra, abbiamo lavorato abbastanza ma non ne siamo venuti a capo e non siamo riusciti a portare un netto miglioramento. La settimana prossima abbiamo un’altra gara, vediamo di sfruttare questi giorni per analizzare tutto e fare un altro step la prossima settimana».

«It’s been a tough weekend, surely I wasn’t in good physical conditions. The lack of feeling led to a non satisfying result during the whole weekend. I’m sorry for both me and the team, even though we worked well we didn’t solve the problems nor make any improvements. Next week we’ve got another race and we’ll work for analysing everything and do another step forward.»

«Gara sicuramente complicata, soprattutto dopo l’interruzione a causa della caduta di Bastianini, Syharin e Pons. Sono quei momenti che non si vorrebbero mai vedere e speriamo che stiano tutti bene. Per quanto ci riguarda l’interruzione e la ripresa con una gara più corta non ci ha aiutato perché, di solito, noi andiamo meglio nella seconda parte della gara, con le gomme usate, diciamo. Dunque la gara accorciata non ci ha dato vantaggi. Stefano è ripartito bene e ha recuperato qualche posizione ma poi c’era già un buco grosso rispetto al gruppetto davanti e non è riuscito a chiuderlo. Anche Simone è partito bene, è riuscito a risalire di qualche posizione però tutto il weekend ha avuto poco feeling con la moto, soprattutto con l’anteriore e la gara non ha fatto eccezione. Adesso speriamo di poter analizzare bene i dati e fare uno step in avanti per la prossima gara. Il ringraziamento va agli sponsor perché in queste gare complesse il loro supporto vale ancora di più».

«It was a very complicated race for sure, especially after the red flag for the incident involving Bastianini, Syharin and Pons. We wouldn’t see those moments, ever, and we hope them to be fine an healthy. For us, the interruption and the restart with a shorter race didn’t help because, usually, we do better in the second half of the race, with old tyres. So, the shorter race didn’t give us any advantage. Stefano started well after the break, he recovered some positions but there already was a big gap from the group ahead and he didn’t make to fill it. Simone did a good start too, he got up some positions but he didn’t have a good feeling with the bike all weekend, especially with the front and the race was no exception. Now we hope that we could analyse all the data well and take a step forward for the next race.
