Q2 SFIORATA DI DUE DECIMI PER IL TEAM MV AGUSTA FORWARD RACING

Giornata di qualifiche sull’Algarve International Circuit di Portimão, alla vigilia dell’ultima gara del Campionato del Mondo di Moto 2. Stefano Manzi, dopo aver lavorato sul set up della sua F2 durante le FP3, non riesce a centrare l’accesso diretto in Q2 nonostante l’ottimo tempo fatto registrare il pomeriggio precedente. In Q1 il pilota romagnolo mostra un buon passo, sfiorando di due decimi l’accesso in Q2 e la potenziale lotta per la Pole Position, come quella ottenuta nello scorso weekend a Valencia. Domani partirà dalla 7^a fila e proverà a chiudere in bellezza la stagione con un’ennesima grande rimonta. Discorso speculare per Simone Corsi. L’alfiere della Fiamme Oro ha lavorato ancora sull’assetto nell’ultima sessione di libere, in modo da migliorare il feeling con la moto. Sebbene  il mancato approdo in Q2, anche per Corsi ci sono notevoli margini di miglioramento per la gara di domani: il pilota romano partirà dalla 9^a fila e proverà fin da subito a recuperare posizioni e avvicinare la zona punti. Warm Up a partire dalle 10:30, ora italiana, con nastro di partenza della gara previsto alle 13:20.

PORTUGAL GP – MV AGUSTA FORWARD RACING MISSED Q2 FOR JUST TWO TENTH OF A SECOND

Qualifying day on the Algarve International Circuit of Portimão, during the eve of the last race of the Moto 2 World Championship. Stefano Manzi, after the good work on the set up done in FP3, couldn’t hit Q2 straight despite the good pace shown yesterday afternoon. In Q1, the rider from Romagna did a good time but missed for just two tenth of a second the access in the last qualifying round and the chance to fight, and win, again for the pole position. Tomorrow he’ll start from 7th row and will try to close his season with another great comeback. Same thing for Simone Corsi. The Fiamme Oro standard-bearer worked again on the asset, in order to improve the feeling with his F2. Even though he missed Q2, even for Corsi there are room for improvement for tomorrow’s race: the rider from Rome will start from 9th row and will try to recover some position quickly and get inside the points. Warm up is set for 10:30 PM, with starting line at 1:20 PM.   

«Today it’s been a tough day because we still trying to improve the feeling with the bike, but unfortunately we couldn’t lowered yesterday’s time. We had to go through Q1 and I didn’t qualified for Q2 for just 2 tenth of a second. Tomorrow I’ll start from 7th row and tonight we’ll prepare a good strategy for the race».

«This is a tough track for me, I struggled all over the weekend and I’m try to know it better every time I’m on board. We’re trying to improve the set up too, because we can be faster than we are now. I did a tenth of a second better than this morning, but I still have to fill the gap from the top positions. Now we’ll get back to work and do another step forward».

«This is not the qualifying we expected. For our riders be competitive was a little bit tougher than the others. During the time attack, Stefano was a bit unlucky because he was in the front of a group that used his wake, while he wasn’t able to make it; he was the first to be excluded from Q2. That’s a pity, this is not how we want to end 2020, so tomorrow both of them will have to put up a comeback trying to end inside the points».
